FOUNTAINHEAD OF PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE - ANHALT UNIVERSITY | ||
The Bernburg-Strenzfeld Campus stands out for the quality of learning and lifestyle. Around 3,000 students in the departments of agriculture, ecotrophology and agricultural development and business are supported here by 53 professors. Since its foundation, Anhalt University has not only dedicated itself to its educational goals, but has also been intensively engaged in the area of application-oriented research and development as mandated by regional university law, thus developing into an important scientific centre in the Anhalt region. The university's skillsets and modern equipment provide a sound basis for applied research. However, this research doesn’t just serve the constant development of specialised scientific fields, but is increasingly used in innovation for small and medium-sized companies in the region. This cooperation takes many forms, ranging from student internships to tasks which form part of bachelor and master theses, from research assignments to joint research projects. Extensive use is made of national and regional subsidies, which provide meaningful support for research cooperation with companies. The university is involved in a series of cooperative associations, networks and clusters. Of special importance here is the close cooperation with other universities within the network of excellence for applied and transfer-oriented research (KAT). With the establishment and development of the KAT centre of excellence under the banner LIFE SCIENCES, Anhalt University has made an important step towards raising its profile and concentrating on key areas of application-oriented research. |
